The first steps

Herma and Johann Neumüller founded their steel and scrap yard in 1966. Since then, Eisen Neumüller has been a real family-run business. In 1984, a 10,000 m² plot was purchased in Mauthausen and the first warehouse was built on this.

Constant expansions, including in the scrap sector, and problems with loading scrap metal (that first had to be loaded onto trucks and then transferred to wagons at Mauthausen station) eventually meant that the scrap metal division had to move.

CONSTANT EXPANSION

A suitable location was found in 1998 in Ennshafen. The new scrap yard with its own sidings went into operation in 1999. The next big expansion took place in 2005. A wet dock was rented in Ennshafen so that steel could also be delivered by boat over the waterways. After a trial period lasting six months, the company decided to purchase an approx. 22,000 m² site in the port.

A hall with a covered area of approx. 8,000 m² was built in 2006. Further expansions took place in Ennshafen in 2009. In the meantime, steel and scrap metal is traded and stored here on a total area of 80,000 m².

MODERN SUCCESS

The mixture of experience, tradition and progress in the steel and scrap business has now been joined by the latest IT system for organisation and logistics at Eisen Neumüller. But the principle of a simple handshake still applies to this day.

Apart from the traditional steel and scrap trade, Eisen Neumüller can also offer bespoke waste disposal concepts. Responsible recycling calls for not only specialist know-how but also powerful and efficient equipment. With the water-land handling location at the port in Ennsdorf and its own fleet of modern trucks, Eisen Neumüller is ideally equipped to face the future.
